December 25th, 2002.

Following are the facts about what happened that night and the months after:

Teal had spent the day with her family and then was invited to eat Christmas dinner with her boyfriend and his family. He picked her up at 6:00 and was told to be home at 10:00. Around 9:20 a friend of Teal’s knocked on our door saying Teal had been in an accident on Magic Way.

According to the police report Tim went over three curbs, traveled over 200’ through some landscaping, hitting the pole at a speed of 32 mph. The tire marks "did not indicate any braking throughout the duration". After an inspection of the vehicle, "there was no evidence of leaks in the braking system and the pedal pressure was OK as was the fluid level and the Master Cylinder." This part of Magic Way is a six lane divided roadway with a posted speed limit of 35 mph.

June 18th, Tim’s original plea hearing date. What was thought as a court summons was actually an arrest warrant and he was put in handcuffs and taken away.

June 25th, plea hearing. Tim pleads guilty to four felony crimes: Involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, DUI, and having a controlled substance.

July 21st, Tim’s sentencing. 60 more days of being locked up then 30 days of house arrest and 18 months probation. According to his step dad, he went to his Uncle’s house and got high before picking up Teal. He adamantly said no drugs were done at his house that night.
